In The Event Of A Natural Disaster

Our latest blog challenge at sb.com is: If you had to evacuate your home because of a natural disaster, which of your possessions would you bring with?

So here goes my list of things to bring with me in the event of a natural disaster. This list is in the hopes that we actually have time to pack up our stuff. In the event of an immediate evacuation, my list would be much shorter.

The first things that I would bring would be my most prized possessions (lol). My beautiful family. My mom would be included in this list, since she lives with us now.

Another prized possession, would be my bear Rupert. Rupert was given to me in the 10th grade. My guy best friend and I decided to exchange presents on Valentine's Day, because both of us were single. I gave him a cross stitch that I had made of Tasmania Devil (his fave), and he gave me Rupert. A few months after our gift exchange, my dear friend Kevin committed suicide. I am lucky that I have Rupert to remember Kevin by. He goes with me everywhere!

Another thing that I would take with me is my camera. It's a passion, and what I use to document my life.

There are many other things that I would take. If I had the room my computer would go, because of all the valuable files it holds. If there was no room, then I would take my external hard drive and all of my data cds and video files. Trey would insist that we take one of his video game systems. Pretty much the only things that I would be considered about our are personal items. Everything else in our life that can be replaced is not really a priority. Pictures, mementoes, things of that nature would be the priority!

  1. What a great list...you are lucky to have that bear and I can see how he would be special. I love the photo of your family, and the big NEW on Liam's shirt :)

  2. Awesome list! Love the bear and I'm kinda glad to see (er....read) I'm not the only one who'd take a favorite stuffed animal with me for sentimental reasons.
